ARTIST, LAMIA MEKKI BERRADA

Lamia Mekki Berrada is a Moroccan painter who lives and works in her hometown of Casablanca, Morocco.

She is a woman eager for freedom in every way, spiritual and material, and defines herself as a caged bird, imprisoned in a cell she has never chosen.

Through her work, Lamia condemns, from collection to collection, the liberticidal conceptions, whether they are those reducing the woman to an object of desire, to those limiting the movements of human beings in a planet which has been divinely offered to them.

Lamia began painting in 2017 and has since participated in group exhibitions in Morocco and the United States, in New York, Chicago and in Philadelphia.
